Maria Videla-Juniel, who designed the primary bathroom of the main house, also devised a welcoming entry to the Gate House. A Thibault wall covering graces the entry, and a Fibreworks runner leads guests up the stairs. Maria Videla-Juniel turned the primary bath into a sumptuous retreat with hues of soft blue and brown. Thibaut wall coverings and fabrics were used for the walls and windows, and the elegant shagreen-covered vanities are accented with gleaming fixtures by P.E. Videla-Juniel and project manager Cheryl Hardy also installed a striking shower clad in herringbone stone tile.

As you step into the 19’4″x16′ living, you will notice how massive this open floor area is. From the dining room, you have direct access to the side porch through glass sliding doors. Modern farmhouse style, on the other hand, is largely credited to Joanna Gaines and the debut of Fixer Upper in 2013. Though she may not have been the only designer working in this style, the show has been a large factor in bringing the style to the masses. Today, both traditional farmhouse style homes and modern farmhouse style homes pull from these original elements. Traditional farmhouse homes will often embrace the more rustic elements of these homes and, in many ways, it can be seen as a progression of an aesthetic through the decades.
Country house plans reflect the best of rural living, with broad sweeping floor plans and expansive verandas that embrace their setting. These homes are smaller in size and carry over many of the aesthetics of Craftsman homes, only on a more stripped-down scale. These houses often feature offset porches, simple front lawns, and a single story that spreads out the rooms to maximize space. A vaulted ceiling is responsible for this effect which maximizes the interior space. They both measure 10’6″x11’3″ so your kids will not have to fight over who gets the bigger room.
The firm creates livable, elegant and artful designs which have grown to include private residences, model units and developer project interiors, executive suites and brand campaigns. Hand-painted floors were the jumping-off point for designer Amy Peltier’s soothing primary bedroom design. “It was so much work, but it turned out beautiful.” The firm wanted the space to feel “light and airy and breezy,” and incorporated fabrics and wall coverings by Thibaut in a soft color palette.
